Karen's Biography...

Hi I'm Karen Root...

I am a watercolor artist, photographer, printmaker and all around crafty, artsy person. I love making my artcards and painting and photographing things that make me feel good when I look at them.

My love for art started at an early age in New Jersey. I then attended schools in Connecticut, Philadelphia, Maryland and D.C. After arriving in California, I took up studies in Costa Mesa at Orange Coast College. OCC provided me with many wonderful artistic experiences such as bookmaking, black and white photography, printmaking and a well rounded experience in art expression. I also joined the Costa Mesa Art League where I served as treasurer and historian for many years and participated in many outdoor shows. It was during this time that I found nature to be a very big inspiration for me. The colors and shapes of the outdoors are extremely important when I approach an art project and this is reflected in my artwork.

Throughout everything, I want to extend a thank you to my family and let them know I appreciate the support and love I receive from them in all my artistic endeavors. I find that there is nothing more wonderful than creating a new piece of art and I hope to continue doing that for many years to come.
